Hi there,
I am Nigerian and I can see this problem from both sides. These people will do anything to survive - even at the expense of their country's name. In most cases, they don't care about the country's image as they are revolting against a government which offers them no support. But then, I do not think that any of this is an excuse to defraud innocent victims in other countries out of their hard-earned money. There are countries with worse governments than Nigeria and they are not taking to fraud. Because of this, I am currently working on a Nigerian-based scheme to alleviate this problem. It will take time, but with enough support, "Nigerian Scams" will soon become a thing of the past. (Hopefully.)

I'll give you a tip that you will never hear anywhere else. Four letters that every Nigerian scammer is petrified of : EFCC. They are the FBI of Nigerian crimes. Here is their website : www.efccnigeria.org
Just tell anyone who wants you to send them your laptop - Ask them if it's ok for you to give the EFCC their details to check on them and confirm that they are authentic.

I wonder if it is ok to ship back a brick on their expense.
