"haXe is also a very good server language, by the way, and is arguably better than Erlang for many applications"

Yariv, would you care to elaborate on this comment? For which sorts of applications would haXe on the server be preferable to Erlang, and why?

Yeah... it is really beautiful. Hot code swap, pattern matching, fun, lightweight concurrency, OTP, Mnesia, etc... are really cool!

Quick update: the code is done and Claes has agreed to integrate it into Yaws! In the next day or two, the code should be in CVS, and Claes may decide to make a new release for it.

hi Roberto,

The code is in final stages of testing. I'll send you a preview before I "officially" release it today or tomorrow :)

I'm also learning Erlang and I must say it's been fun. Pattern matching is a huge step forward from if/else, and I like the dynamic typing, too :) Of course, that's just scatching the surface.

Oh yeah, I love it too, this hot code swap ! Look forward to integrate your Haxe remote stuff into the Flash part of my DojoOnYaws webapp (I am still fighting with functional programming, but it's coming along nicely)

regards
